Objective:  RI.9-10.1 Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly and inferred. Essential Question:  How does the author convey meaning explicitly and inferred? Activities: 

• Students complete presenting their answers to questions from The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Part Two. 
• Test on The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Part Two
• Students review SAT sentences cards and pick the best sentence from three that contains an excellent context clue.  Put a sticky note on the back of the card you pick.  Turn in cards to Ms. Lewis.
• Students pair up and review their synonyms, antonyms, definitions, companion forms, and sentences to prepare for Voc. 2 test.
• Return essays and discuss feedback.

Home Learning: 

• Begin reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Part Three; answer questions from handout that corresponds with pages you read.
• We will not have time to study Ender’s Game.  I apologize if you have purchased the book.
• Study for your Sat #2 Test. 

The SAT #2 test will be given for 3B Monday, Oct. 14, and 2A & 4A Thursday, Oct. 17.  That is your Exam day for this class.  You will not be given a 1^st quarter Exam in this class.

• PSAT will be administered Wednesday, Oct. 16.
• CGA tests will be administered Thursday & Friday, Oct. 17 & 18.
• NEXT CLASS Essay Revision Review.  Essay final revisions are due for 3B Monday, Oct. 14^th, 2A & 4A Tuesday, Oct. 15^th.
